Bought our GE stove last Oct. 2018 - tried the self -clean for the first time in April.

The smell and fumes were horrible. Had to open all the windows and run the ceiling fans...after the stove was cooled the next day we opened to wipe down only to find a fried top coil small part all over. The entire inside of the oven is pitted including the inside of the door. 2 weeks go by and they hire A & E Electronics to access the oven.

The rep can replace parts to get the oven working but, cannot fix the pitted marks After several conversations with GE (now on our 4th week without a stove) they will not replace the stove because the inside is a cosmetic issue...what they aren't grasping is that our stove won't be blemished if the original problem would not have occurred.

I will be petrified to use the self clean on this stove and every time we open it - we will be reminded of what happened...Seriously ~ we're lucky to have a house. I will never ever buy or recommend a GE Appliance again...horrible non-caring people...not to mentioned you never get to talk to your case Manager...a new person has to review the information each time you call - horrible!!!

Reason of review: Warranty issue.

Preferred solution: A new stove.
