The dryer selection *** broke after only 4 months. I had to manufacture my own replacement *** because the (over-priced) replacement would be identical to the one that broke.
Actually, the cheap plastic *** just split and refused to turn the shaft any longer. After one year, a switch in the back stopped working. Taking the dryer apart to get to that switch was awful. The cause was both really bad engineering and a bad installation of said switch.
The dryer made loud noises after only 2 years of relatively light use. Taking the dryer apart to get to where I could lubricate and dress the belt was awful. Is GE ever going to design anything for ease of maintence? I am guessing the answer is "no".
A few months later, it went noisy again.
The washer never ever puts enough water in.
I have to do small loads only. Also, the old washer did a much better job.
