The icemaker dispenser on my GE refrigerator door continually clogged up with ice. I called GE to repair it on February 6, 2012.
The repairman came on February 10, 2012 and determined that the refrigerator needed a new duct door solenoid and ice guide, which he ordered at a cost of $240.91. After the parts arrived by UPS, the repairman returned on February 17, 2012 and installed the parts.
Now the icemaker dispenser is clogged up again, even worse than before. On April 10, 2012, I called GE repair to fix it and was told that the warranty on repairs is 30 days and that there would be a home call charge of $79.95 to diagnose the same problem.
Result: GE charged me $240.91 and failed to fix the problem.
Monetary Loss: $240.
