Our 5 year old GE side by side refigerater/freezer (model GSS201BPHWW) stopped cooling. GE Repairman came to house and told us it needed a new heating unit.
He installed new heater which appears to have fixed the problem. The repair was completed within half an hour. The bill came to $190 for labor and $59 for the part. On internet, the same genuine GE part cost $24.
I called GE Customer service to get an explanation of (what seems to me) high labor charge but their rep could/would not give an explanation on pricing. Needless to say, I am not happy with GE Appliance Repair.
