Purchased a new GE refrigerator in Feb 2018. Wasn't long before the fridge lights quit working.
Called to get it repaired which was a few weeks out. Apparently GE service people are VERY busy. And GE will only schedule within a four hour window as they have decided their customers time is not valuable.
Repair person showed up finally after the 4 hour window was over, didn't bring any parts even though he knew there were lights not working, couldn't pinpoint cause of problem, and ordered all new lights and a new control board. And of course parts were on back order as apparently there are a lot of problems with these appliances.
Parts were shipped to my address when finally available and I then had to call GE to schedule another appointment. As I do have other things
to do didn't call for about a week, but was then prompted to call as refrigerator quit working totally, leaked water on the floor, and unthawed everything in freezer.
This appointment was more timely, but still with a 4 hour we don't care about the customers time schedule. Repairman couldn't find any reason
the fridge had quit working and the computer didn't show any fault codes so he suggested that as it was working again just test it for awhile before putting food back in it. He did find cause of lights not working to be a loose wire that first repairman had never even looked for.
So the fridge was cooling, but obviously we don't trust it, and the lights worked for a few days and then went out again.
Called GE service again this morning and they scheduled another repair call tomorrow morning (of course with a 4 hour window as my time isn't valuable and the 4 hour window is "per corporate guidelines").
The people in Customer service might as well be rocks with voices. And to even get to one of them you have to go through 5 minutes of pressing #'s
on phone key pad. Of course all of the same information then has to be repeated if you have patience to actually get to a real person as they
don't have the information you just put in
Strongly recommend against buying anything from GE! Have had this piece of junk for 6 months and it's been nothing but problems.
No wonder GE is going under!
