My GE Profile dryer is 7 years old, has been very gently used, and has developed a split in the seam of the stainless steel drum. I had GE open a case and their "factory technician" came out, examined the unit and submitted a report.
He made the sole determination that it wasn't a factory defect, which I completely disagree with, but in the eyes of GE doesn't matter. I put up a message on Facebook and only one of many, many comments had seen this and that was on a 28 year old dryer. Even their tech said he had only seen this once in 20 years! Needless to say I have gotten little in customer service from them.
Just wanted to say - do not spend the money onGE Profile appliances - they aren't good. Based on what I've seen here, I have had pretty good luck compared to many of you.
Monetary Loss: $350.
