You would think I had learned my lesson after my previous gas stovetop's electronic ignition started clicking and wouldn't stop. GE's reaction - it's a difficult and expensive thing to fix.
So, imagining that they had somehow improved their appliances, I bought a new one. It didn't take long for the same problem to occur - it just clicks and clicks when no burners are on. I have to unplug it to get some sleep. Contrast them with a Thermador gastop that I had for 15 years without a problem until I did something silly and cracked the glass.
The extra few hundred dollars is certainly not too much to pay for peace of mind. I'm going back there when I've had enough.
Monetary Loss: $600.
