How ***, wasteful, and greedy that the wheels of the Monogram Advantium Microwave turntable can't be replaced.
The plastic wheels on our turntable burned off and caused serious arcing (more like lightning bolts). The entire steel unit has to be replaced (part No. WB06X10219, $77.50 + tax handling shipping) for three little plastic wheels.
The design of the wheels is such that they are VERY difficult to clean, and have a tendency to collect grease. The grease then gets hot enough to compromise the plastic material, which cracks and falls off. The hub of the wheel is riveted to the turntable, and can not be removed.
Bad design, or designed to sell expensive parts?
Yes, GE is the newest US company I'll never do business with again. (The list is getting sooooo long, and it's so sad.)
