Ge Appliances - GE Freezer Dies in 4 Years

I thought you might be interested to know that GE Appliances are no longer owned by GE. They are owed by Haier, a Chinese company. Why am I telling you this? Because I now believe this once great brand has become garbage. I purchased a GE Freezer 4 years ago and it quit working earlier this month taking all the food with it. I called GE Service and the technician that arrived told me it was out of warranty and quoted $756.02 to fix it. I only paid $749 for the *** thing new. They actually had the nerve to quote more to fix it than it cost. The story gets worse. The technician said call GE Customer Care and since the freezer was only 4 years old, they would do something for me. I did and they offered to provide the parts at no cost but I would still have to pay for the labor. I agreed and they ordered the parts. After 3 parts orders, and visits from 3 technicians, the freezer is still not working. When I called GE Service and asked to talk to management, they absolutely refused. A low level supervisor offered to sell me a new freezer for a discount which is outrageous. So we scheduled a fourth technician visit. Well, that technician told me the freezer is not repairable. I am now forced to buy a new replacement freezer from GE. Whenever a company refuses to connect you with management, you know they are having big problems. Hiding behind call takers is the cowardly act of a dysfunctional organization, in my opinion. So my advice, avoid GE Appliances at all cost. Chances are you will pay a lot of money, end up with an unreliable product, receive poor service, and have no recourse.

Ge Appliances - Monogram Refrigerator - 7 repairs in 18 months~~

This refrigerator won't keep food frozen. It thaws and refreezes and causes FREEZER BURN on all my food! It's been repaired several times and most of their service techs tell me to TURN ON THE A/C IN MY HOUSE!! WHATTTTTT???????? The service techs have been pretty snippy. They look at the food and say "all refrigerators do this". NO THEY DON'T!!! It's been repaired or looked at by uncooperative techs now about 7 or 8 times. The problem is not resolved!! Now all the fancy LED interior lights are just going out!! Poof. Out! Top lights went out last week. Can't see my milk! Crisper drawer temp controls and lighting went out a couple days later!! Can't see my vegetables! I should have bought a cheap $400 refrigerator instead of a $8,000 (!!!) *** MONOGRAM FROM GE!!! THIS REFRIGERATOR SUCKS! -pissed and ripped off by GE !! mb, boca raton

Ge Appliances - Bought GE Profile in Dec 2013. Model # PSB48YGXASV....Its June and it stopped working.

I am really disappointed with the purchased paid almost $6000 . its been only 6 months and it completely stopped the tech came out had to order 2 Evaporators one for the freezer section and the other for the fresh food. and says it may not be the problem, it could be a leak from the wall off the fridge we don't know. the consumer relation department has not been very kind when I asked to get a new fridge since we don't know whats wrong with it and have to deal with this mess deal with this mess. Imagine it stopped working on Fathers Day when I had company with 22 people including us five. The case manager cancelled the appointment because I asked for a new fridge so now I have to wait 10 days for someone to fix it. Not happy at all. I want a new fridge.

Ge Appliances - Service Failure

The freezer side of my refrigerator has been making a puddle on my hardwood floor. I scheduled an service appointment. On the day of the appointment, I was to wait at home from 1:00 - 5:00 for the repairman. At 4:55, the repairman called and said he would be at least 2 hours late. The options he presented were to re-schedule or wait. I cancelled, then called the repair office. My options were to re-schedule with the same repairman, re-schedule with a different repairman, or cancel. I confirmed the cancellation and asked for the corporate complaint address. Then, I called a local repair company. Next, I'll write a corporate complaint. It's ridiculous to have to wait 1/2 day for someone that doesn't show up on time, then asks for more time! Can only imagine how the repair would have gone.

Ge Appliances - Don't Buy A GE Appliance

Remodeled kitchen in Jan 2005 - bought GE Profile refrigerator, stove and above atove microwave. Never mind the dark smoke bellowing form the stove the first time we turned it on... the fire department came right away and the dealer we purchased it from was kind enough to replace it the next day. 5 years late the freezer was making a sound like a motorcycle, and parts from the microwave were literally falling off. GE Appliance Repair took $260 of our money. Here it is, 18 months later, and the same part on the freezer is broken. Thise thieves want anorther $190 to come out and fix it again, even though it's DUE TO THEIR INFERIOR PRODUCTS AND PARTS!
