Purchased a GE gas dryer from Lowes around Sept 2010. Today I go to turn the heat knob to low and the whole switch in the back of the dryer falls out. Took of the back cover and found that the switch was held on by flimsy plastic brackets molded right into the main dryer control panel.
This is a VERY cheap design and obviously breaks easily. According to GE I am SOL since the dryer was purchased over a year ago. Even called the GE Consumer Advocacy dept and all they wanted to do was sell me repair service on their piece of *** dryer.
Two lessons learned: DO NOT purchase anything with the GE brand (I never will again), purchase an appliance from a company selling quality products with a better warranty who will stand my their products. Obviously GE does not!
