GE Appliances - Can't make a soup or stew on my new $1000 stove
I recently purchased a GE electric coil top stove, model JCBP400DT2WW. I cannot leave a soup or stew to simmer for 2 or 3 hours because even when I turn the heat to the lowest setting, the heat will eventually build and return to a boil. I was told that "no one cooks like that anymore -today it is all about cooking as fast as possible". Really? Then why do they tell you to allow a full 30 min to allow the stove to heat up?
I have spent $1000 on a piece of garbage that does not meet the most basic requirements of a stove. They told me that I should take the pot off the stove periodically to allow the temperature to cool. They say there is nothing wrong with my elements - they are not meant to simmer and they cannot be adjusted.
Also, the lip on the drawer is curved and so shallow that there is nothing to grab on to. You have to use both hands and grasp the corners of the draw to open.
The drawer itself is also garbage - allow the space would allow for a drawer of the normal depth, the sides and back of this drawer only about 3 in high, making this draw useless for storing all the trays and things that I have easily stored in my last 3 stoves over the last 40 years.
Sign me MAD AND FRUSTRATED FOR HAVING WASTED $1000
