GE Profile Appliances

We used to think that GE appliances were great because we had appliances built by them that lasted for over thirty years. For remodeling we decided to replace them with new GE Profile appliances. The refrigerator has been repaired by GE about six times, and even had new doors replaced and the ice maker still only works about half of the time. The oven started failing after only five years. The digital panel has had a problem since we bought the oven. The second time we used the oven it would not cut off! This should have been a warning that there was a design flaw, but we kept it and now the digital panel has went out after only being replaced in 2009. Every repairman has told us that GE is a bunch of *** ever since they left the US to get their cheap foreign labor. Do not buy their products unless you want a lot of expense and aggravation.

I bought GE appliances because they are an American company. Within 2 years of purchasing my expensive dishwasher, it had a run away heater and melted anything many things.

It also melted the wheel, the drawer itself and the guts that were metal. It took 3.5 hours to get someone on the phone that day. The GE repair man came & went before I could speak to customer service. He left after I paid him the fee for coming and told me it would cost $500 to fix it!

Yes I finally spoke to a nice gentleman and he had the parts sent to my house and the repair man came back to fix it. In February, my GE profile fridge stopped working the temp was 81 when I looked in it at 7am. the night before it was fine. Of course ALL the food had spoiled .

I called the customer complaint line again and they graciously sent out someone who fixed the problem. Now 45 days later, the fridge does the same thing but it's Saturday afternoon. SO I call again....so mad I can't stand it and hear 15 times a patronizing "WE APOLOGIZE". But we can arrange for a service person to be there between 1pm & 5pm on MONDAY!

So just borrow a neighbor's fridge and inconvenience them.

So I bought a back up mini fridge because i reset the GE again and anticipate it failing again in another 45 days or less.

GE isn't made in America.....buy something else.....It has now cost me over $500 in just January & February to replace things GE has broken.

Don't believe GE ads! GE couldn't care less about Americans

Years ago, Jack Welch bragged about how he sent jobs overseas to save money for GE. Now, Jeff Immelt brags about how GE will save money by developing and manufacturing products overseas for the American market. At the same time, GE runs ads about what a great company they are and how they support America. A big LIE! Most recently GE is spreading propaganda about how minimal he effects of radiation spills are not only to the people of Japan, but the rest of us as well. At the same time, they are shopping around for a buyer for their reactor business and trying to get the best price. I care as much for GE and Jeff Immelt as he cares for me. I will never willingly buy anything anywhere made by GE.

Ge appliance - does not honor warranty

after going out and doing their leg work and buying the replacement microwave oven, for which i still have not been paid reimbursed. They will not install the microwave. they want me to pay to have it installed. Clearly it states in the warranty ge will provide, FREE OF CHARGE all labor and related service to replace the defective part.... ge will take your money and make you run around after they have your hard earned cash. thanks for nothing to ge cusumer relations remember buying GE IS LIKE GIVING YOUR MONEY AWAY AND NOT HAVING ANY RECOURSE TO GET ANY SATISFACTION

Sold my wife a G.E. washing machine that only worked for 3 months.

Got a GE Profile washer from HH Greg. It worked for about two and a half months. The lid sensor blew. We had it repair three time every two weeks. HH Greg did not want to replace the washer, instead told us they would send a e-mail to the corporate office. They inform us we would hear from them within 24 hours,we never heard anything. The fourth time the lid sensor stopped the repair man said the motor was bad and causing the sensor to blow. They shipped a motor to my home and made a promise to return on a schedule date. NO SHOW. I've own this washer for four months now and it sits inoperable.

Disappointment with GE appliances

I have a GE Profile Wash/Dry set. I have been very disappointed w/ them. The washer is average and the dryer takes forever to dry the clothes. I bought the washer because it didn't have a middle agitator & I was tired of my clothes coming out in knots. This was no different from my old Kenmore washer. Actually, that was much better. Quite disappointing for the money I spent. Will never buy GE appliances ever again. My mom and sister have also had terrible experiences with GE appliances. They each had GE refrigerators that had to be repaired repeatedly. My sister has a GE wash/dry that is only 6 years old and the transmission has gone out on the washer.

I can't stand the washer. Mine won't fill with water because of the energy star rating and "water savings" You can't wash a full load of clothes because they don't even get wet.

I hate the washer.

GE IS THE WORST CO. DO NOT BUY PRODUCTS FROM GE

We bought a GE gas range 5 years ago. At the beginning of December 2010, we start get a error and our oven would shut off. We check with several appliance technicians, they told us it was the sensor or the control board and this was a common problem. I sent GE customer service (Ha Ha) a email in mid december, i received a email back to unplug our oven which we had already done from what the technicians told us. I emailed them again, I receive this email back, we are sorry please call a technicians to have it fixed. I called GE, I was on hold for 40 minutes before anybody answered. He told me they would send a technician (waive the fee) so we can find out the real problem. The technician was worthless, (if I would have had to pay for the service I would have been real mad) he came in turned the oven on, it did not even get to 150 degrees, he said it is your control board and sensor, he was here about 5 minutes, you get that for $70 charge. I called GE again, they told me they would pay 50% of the $300 charge. I sent them a email telling them I paid $1,000 dollars for this appliance and after five years this should not be going out. I have had appliances for twenty years without any problems. I did not receive a response from my email so I sent it to them again. I asked them is this how your treat your customers. Guess what, no response. I called them in mid January, the lady I spoke with told me that this would turned over to a supervisor and I would receive a call within 30 minutes. Guess what, I did not receive any call back. I will never buy another GE Appliance, they make this *** paying people proverty wages and they are not willing to stand behind their products. GE is all for the CEO's and shareholders not for the customer. I would advise everybody not to buy GE Appliances unless you want to get the customer service I received.

all my appliances in my kitchen are ge as well as my 2 year old washer the kitchen appliances are 5 years old and all are need of repair some have been repaired several times already ge anything in my opinion is a piece of ^&&%& and instead of trying to be the new energy zcar they should try a little quality control on what made them a global company to begin with APPLIANCES. My daughter also has a ge refridgerator and it was brand new and there was no warranty the ge rep just sent them parts to repair it themselves what the $%^#%

Ge appliances - voucher run around

micheal fairbanks wants to issue me a voucher for a microwave which has not worked from day one. we purchased the unit on sale,$70 dollars below retail price and all he will give us is the sale price to try to replace the unit, which is under full warranty from ge.

i have to go out buy the unit, pay for it, send the receipt and the voucher back to him, then they will issue a check for the price of the voucher. is this insane.

the unit is under full warranty just replace it... thank for standing by the products you make out of the usa.

So, if I want something from GE and they won't give me what I want, all I have to do is demand to speak with a supervisor named jaymeee and threaten to turn him in for the scandal with the rebate girl?

Guest

@ Jaymee you bribed your workers into having sex with you by promising promotions? This is an integrity issue and you're a monster!

I would terminate your employment if only one of these girls would come forward to HR... wait, all I have to do is find out who is in charge of rebates for his team and interrogate her.

Guest

This is because fairspanks doesn't know that he needs to have sexual relations with his superiors in order for him to do whatever he wants and get away with it. That's how all my employees get what they want.

I have promised promotions to four of my team members in exchange for sex and they all let me *** them but I never delivered my side of the bargain. Well, I let one of them be in charge of rebates...

Guest

@Stink Browneye don't you deliver my newspaper? Why did it come soaked in lispy paper boy tears three weeks ago?

Guest

@ Stink Browneye I think the odor is the late stages of fermentation of the dead skin cells trapped under the fat rolls compounded by a severe wiping problem. If you want the smell to improve try wrapping a rag on a stick and inconspicuously place it at his workstation.

Guest

He no love you long time.

Guest

You know the smell that is generated when you dont shower or brush your teeth for a week and then hock a flemer into your palm and rub one off? Thats what Michael Fairbanks smells like!

Its repulsive at best. Makes everyone in the call center want to puke their guts out.

GE Service Stinks

I have a 10 year old GE smooth top range with a convection oven. We paid about $1400 for the stove when it was new. Not a cheep stove, we wanted the best. We had some errors with the oven and called service & they came out and looked at the stove. The service man said the control panel kit and the electronic range control kit needs to be replaced. The control panel kit is no longer available. He said I needed to call GE. I called and they told me that if I got the unavailable kit aftermarket myself that they would have the service man come back and install it. They also said that they would email my wife with information as to where I could get that kit. Basically I feel that GE customer support blew me off. We have not heard from anyone as far as any information to where the part may be acquired from. I have searched many sites on the internet and it is not available. I also about a week after the incident got a call from a survey group about this. I expressed my dissatisfaction and anger about the way we were treated. They told me that this would be elevated to a red status, apparently something that I should hear from someone soon. So nothing has happened as of yet. So I feel GE has ripped me off for $80 bucks for a service call and has not given me anything for the money. They have not even gotten back to me with a source that I can get a part for my stove. Trust me when I say as it stands right now, I will never buy anything GE, not because it stove broke, but because they pretend to care about customer service but their actions do not show that philosophy. As far as I am concerned they might as well put on their advertisements and web sites that they don't give a rats back side about if their customers can get their stuff fixed or information from them, at least my expectations would not be as high as they started out to be. GE doesn't really care about the people who buy their products, they just want to give the impression they do.

Every GE appliance in my new home failed.

Hello, I wanted to let you know of my experience with your company. I purchased my first home in 2000. With that purchases came all new GE appliances. Here is a list of appliances and how they have failed. Microwave - less than a year, called GE told there was a recall on the part and they would send someone. Person came out and told us no warranty repair was set up and we had to pay. 6 mounts later power diode blew replaced that myself with your exterminable overpriced part (you $79.00, NTE 4.95 same diode) then 3 month later magnetron blew. Gave up, and we are still using microwave I had in collage it was purchased in 94 and works to this day(of course it is not GE!) Refrigerator – Water dispenser runs constantly squirting water all over the floor. Called GE had the same repair company that worked on microwave set to come fix it. We decided just to live without the ice maker and water dispenser. Refrigerator lasted a little better then microwave almost 2.5 years. Garbage Disposal – Parts started coming off 4 years in. Dish washer – had to rebuild shelve when they rusted out, many plastic parts wore out it is still running though jerry rigged several times. Time 3 years Oven – have to say no issues with it, so I guess not all. Fingers crossed. Water Softener - Seal on inflow pipe dissolved and it had a fast drip that kept flooding the garage. And of course where the seal was located made it imposable to repair without replacing entire pump system. So it sits in a corner next to the Microwave. I keep them both as a conversation piece to educate family and friends as to my failure trusting your appliances. 6 years Washing machine – Have no idea what happened started making a grinding sound the leaking, Replaced it with another GE since it was under warranty it lasted just long enough for the warranty to expire then failed. All good in the end Whirlpool works great. First one .6 years second 1.5 years Dryer – this is the craziest a small tin door clip kept failing out then finally broke in half over the last few months. Part started falling our 3 years in. We use a wooden dow to prop the door shut till we can save for the matching whirlpool dryer since the whirlpool washer has lasted longer the two GE washers. Hot Water Heater - after 3 years have to replace the coils twice and the high pressure release value once. I tried to buy from a American company and I paid the price for it. I know it has been 10 years but I do not recall my parents having to replace applinces every 5 to 6 years. and having to constantly repair them. Very disappointed GE your quality John

Bad GE kitchen appliances!!!

Where do I begin? I purchased a new spec home from a builder 3 years ago. The kitchen was decked out with stylish black GE smooth surface cook top stove, bulit in microwave, and dishwasher. Before moving in, I was encouraged enough by the GE vibe that I stopped at Home Depot and purchased a stainless steel GE fridge and washer and dryer. I have had nothing but problems with EVERY appliance. The microwave door handle broke after being shut a FEW times, the dishwasher has leaked, been repaired twice, and still cannot clean a cereal bowl or coffee cup. The oven bakes hot, and the fridge has already had the ice maker replaced. Our clothes washing machine has been repaired but still cannot drain anything washed on gentle, and the dryer is extremely hot. We had mainly Kenmore and Maytag appliances at our previous 20 year old home with very few issues. What happened here??? I am extremely disappointed and think GE needs to address the poor quality of their appliances SOON.

I redid my kitchen in 2006 and purchased all brand new GE appliances What a MISTAKE that was.I have had nothing but trouble since 2008. The freezer (side by side)has broken almost every 2 mos.

since 2008 of course it is guaranteed for 30 days).I also have to take an insurance policy every year for a couple of hundred $$ & a $25.00 copay each time. I have spoken to ge cust. relations for several months. They offered me $100.00 on a new one :sigh.

Then they said to contact the people that my insurance policy was with.

They (after 4 years) offered to get me a comparable one- less the 5 yrs depreciation, less shipping, installation & removal of the old one. HELP!!!

GE Advantium Microwave Touchpad Failure F3

GE Appliances - GE Advantium Microwave Touchpad Failure F3

Bought a GE Profile Advantium Microwave in July of 07. The model number was SCB2001KKS02.

Just over 3 yrs of use and the touchpad has shorted and made the oven completely un-usable. I would have thought after spending $2500 on this model, that it should have lasted for a lot longer than 3 yrs. Wrote GE a email and complained. Do you think it helped?

Not a chance. GE is not concerned one bit that your expensive appliance has failed. They insulted me with a $50 coupon good for a down payment on another Chinese peice of *** or a 25% discount on their highly inflated part. They denied that this part failed prematurely.

Oh please GE, read the internet complaints on this exact failure rate.

It was designed that way. Its the last GE appliance that this family will ever buy period.

An addendum to my previous comment. Vikki, at GE, did come thru with a option that was fair under the circumstances.

They were willing to pay for 50% of the cost of the replacement touchpad and also a $50 gift check towards GE parts or appliances.

Give her a try, she may be able to ease the pain a bit. Thanks Vikki.

Going to the better business bureau will not do you any good. It is basically for reviews on how a business is doing.

It is supported by business donations. They cannot help you in any of these matters.

Your next step is to file in small claims court in your area. That might get their attention.

If EVERYONE that had a problem w/a GE product wrote the facts to their Better Business Bureau (BBB), you WOULD get some satisfaction (that is exactly what *I* intend to do, if State Street Discount where I bought the GE dryer doesn't offer me satisfaction that I can live with. The the start button has broken off the front face of the panel THREE TIMES in the space of less than a year. Model #DBXR463GG8WW.) GE Customer Service says "it has to break FOUR TIMES before it can be replaced."

An Example: after I cancelled VONAGE service, I was still being charged; I wrote, I called - nothing - so I sent the facts to the BBB and they got me my money back. NOW THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST VONAGE for the exact same thing they did to me!!!

Not enough people complain about the poor service they get; they just go on sites like this & complain but don't take it further. "Company Policy" is just words - SOMEONE CAN (and should) do something about poor service AND "we can't take it back until it breaks 4 times!" That's B.S. in the highest form. Consumers MUST stick together to protect themselves - DON'T SETTLE FOR ANYTHING LESS! It's OUR hard-earned money and don't don't give a *** about the consumer!

CONSUMERS UNITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
