GE Appliances Hides KNOWN Problem with ClimateKeeper 2
Apr 3, 2008
GE Appliances complaint by Cjleavitt
I purchased a GE Profile Side-by-Side Refrigerator (from Lowes) in Nov. 2007. Model #PSS26PSWASS with the Climate Keeper 2 System.

MSRP $3,500.00.

I recently noticed excessive condensation, frost and ice on the rear of the wall behind the shelves of the Fresh Food compartment.

A modification "kit" has been designed to allegedly correct this problem that I expect to have installed next week. The GE Service Tech advised me that this is a KNOWN PROBLEM on some of the models that incorporate the ClimateKeeper 2 System. Long and short of it - GE stated to me: "The failure that you have experienced does not justify a proactive notification of consumers."

In otherwords - if you find it - they'll fix it - if you don't notice the problem until after the Warraty has expired - good luck.
