2 yr old convection/microwave needs new $100 lightbulb

GE Appliances complaint
A couple of years ago I bought a GE convection/microwave. Recently, the light quit working on the inside of the oven. When I called GE to find out how to replace the bulb, they said I needed to hire a service tech to replace the bulb because it is a special bulb and it is located inside the microwave near some very dangerous parts. And by the way, the light bulb will cost $22 and we can't confirm how much the service tech will charge until he is able to confirm that the microwave really needs a new lightbulb and that it doesn't have a short in a wire. Minimum service call is $80. Can you believe a new light bulb in my microwave is going to cost me over a $100...I guess I will be cooking in the dark!!!! Beware before you buy that overpriced convection oven/microwave from GE.

I am a GE stockholder, and I am going to sell my stock. 2 months after my warranty expired on my GE Spacesaver microwave, the plastic trim on the front began to literally fall to pieces. Their answer is for me to have a service tech look at it at my expense ($70), then they would consider giving me a break on the parts, which cost more than the original unit. Then, have the tech come back again at my expense, to install the parts. GE *** big time.
